Frequently Asked Questions

A WordPress plugin that turns Envato purchase codes into a real licensing system. Your buyers enter their purchase code, the plugin verifies it against the Envato API, and the item is tied to their site. The free version handles one domain per purchase code.

Yes. Personal, Unlimited and Lifetime Unlimited include every Pro feature, including WooCommerce integration. The only difference is the number of sites and how long you get updates and support: Personal covers 1 site for 1 year, Unlimited covers unlimited sites for 1 year, and Lifetime Unlimited covers unlimited sites with lifetime updates and support.

Yes. Pro includes WooCommerce license integration, so you can sell your products on your own store as well as on Envato. All licenses are managed from the same license server.

Updates and support stop at the end of the period you paid for. You can renew any time to get them back.

Full setup guides, REST API reference and code examples are in the documentation.

Yes. Pro is an add-on, not a replacement. It requires License For Envato 1.3.0 or later to be installed and active, because Pro consumes hooks the free plugin exposes from that version onward. If the free plugin is missing, Pro says so in the admin rather than failing silently.

The free plugin allows one. Pro lets you set the number, so a single purchase code can be active on as many domains as your product warrants. The first activation is always stored by the free plugin and the extras are tracked by Pro.

Yes. Pro hosts a ZIP and a changelog per Envato item and serves them through a token-authenticated REST endpoint. Your customers see the update in their WordPress dashboard exactly as they would for any wordpress.org plugin β€” but only while their license is valid.

It degrades gracefully. The Pro feature modules stop running and licensing falls back to the free plugin’s single-domain behaviour. Nothing is deleted β€” the extra activations stay in their own table and come straight back when you reactivate.

Yes. Pro includes a blacklist that runs at priority 5, ahead of any other verification, so a blocked purchase code or domain is rejected before it reaches the rest of the licensing chain.

Yes. Manual issuance lets you create a license one at a time, paste in a list, or generate them in batches β€” useful for bundle deals, replacements, or customers who bought somewhere other than Envato.

Two ways. Email notifications fire on every activation and deactivation, and webhooks send HMAC-SHA256 signed JSON to Zapier, Make or your own endpoint, so you can push license events into whatever you already use.

WordPress 6.0 or later, PHP 7.2 or later, and License For Envato 1.3.0 or later. Pro needs nothing unusual β€” if your site runs a modern WordPress, it will run this.

Activation records live in your own WordPress database, not ours. Every check is validated server-side rather than trusted from the browser, and Pro keeps an activity log you can export to CSV if you need an audit trail.
